"Frozen Bees"

Our first "cold snap" froze a hive of our little girls to death...

Notice in the center of the photo a bee face up, with it's tongue hanging out!  Usually, we see this type of picture when the bees have been poisoned.  Nonetheless, the little girls to the right are frozen head first in the cells, with their backsides in the air.

This broke my heart, make certain you have plenty of bees in your hive to keep each other warm!

Remember to feed, feed, feed!

  1. That sad. A whole hive?

The enlarged photo shows it pretty good. Thanks for sharing this.
